The Act states that all car owners must have auto insurance in order to protect the lives and property of the driver, passengers and pedestrians. Initial payment will be made within 7 days following the submission of a claim form.
 
Protection for Compulsory Auto Insurance
Protection Protection Amount
1. Initial damages will be paid without determining who was at fault
Medical expenses Baht 15,000
Death following medical treatment Baht 35,000
2. Other damages beyond the initial payment will be paid when it has been established that the insured was not at fault. The amount including the above initial damages is as follows:
Medical expense due to injury Baht 50,000
Death, loss of body organ or disability whether or not medical treatment takes place. Baht 200,000
 Daily compensation payment to the injured person from car accident who need to be an in patient  
(not more than 20 days)		  200 Baht/Day

 
 
 

Optional Auto Insurance Type 1, 2, 3 and 4

Optional auto insurance is not enforced by law. Customers are invited to choose from the following:



Type 4: Insurance payment is limited to 100,000 Baht per claim
